I joined my fellow pirates and took to the streets of Tampa for a fun day at Gasparilla. This year was different for my Krewe because we were so close to the front of the parade (#9.) This meant a lot less time for pre-parade partying, but we still made the best of it.

I’ve been to Channelside on multiple occasions; to watch a movie, have dinner, go bowling, stuff my face with chocolate, etc…
In all my visits there, I’ve never noticed that the bowling pin outside of Splitsville is actually an American original. That’s right, Tampa is home to the world’s largest bowling pin! The world’s largest bowling pin towers 30 feet above the Channelside Courtyard at the entrance to Splitsville.
I knew Tampa was home to the world’s longest sidewalk (Bayshore Blvd), but who knew we had this great piece of Americana right under our nose?! Ladies and Gentlemen, you can mark this one, off my bucket list!

Besides the great deals that Groupon offers, they’re also great for helping me find new things to do and places to go in the Tampa Bay area. If you haven’t signed up for Groupons daily e-mails, yet, I recommend signing up for Tampa’s deals or your own home city.
Today’s Tampa deal has once again introduced me to something new and wild.
